The Morning Routine That Rewired My Brain

I have a keen interest in reaching my highest potential as a human brain; thus, I always keep researching and implementing techniques that assist me in becoming a better individual. One of the superlative ways to jumpstart my brain and achieve high-yielding functioning of my brain is to set a morning routine. Although it might sound like something very generic and overheard, it has done wonders to rewire my brain into becoming a super brain. To have a super alert, focused, positive, and proactive brain, with reduced levels of cortisol, negating energy-draining negative thoughts, and subsiding levels of distractions throughout the day. It has left a magical, pragmatic, and productive impact on my life.

All the inspiration and credit for helping me set a better lifestyle goes to Jim Kwik, an American brain Coach, podcaster, writer, and entrepreneur, who has assisted people to reach the endless limits of the brain and quoted, ‘a brighter mind rewards a brilliant life’.

Thus, below is a detailed list of a morning routine that has worked for me as a person to attain a brilliant, productive, and successful day:

1. Gratitude: praying to God

As soon as my eyes open, I recount all the things that I am grateful for to any god I believe in. As soon as we wake up, we are in a very relaxed state of awareness, and our brain is set in the alpha and beta waves. Renouncing gratitude, first thing in the morning, enables a positive and great mood to start the day, and as said by Jim Kwik, to win a day we first need to win the first hour of the day. Additionally, feeling thankful the first thing in the morning is when your body and surroundings are full of energy, and the law of attraction transpires to the fullest potential; thus, it is very important to jumpstart your day with gratitude.

2. Remember your Dreams

Your brain is the most active at night and most connected with the universe; as you wake up, you carry the same frequency, connecting you to the universe. Thus, sometimes you might get the most eye- awakening ideas or creative ideas in your thoughts through a dream that might help change the trajectory of your life as a whole.

Additionally, as facts confirm, before the industrial revolution, more than a 100 years ago, people used to sleep in 2 cycles: the first cycle contained a 4-hour sleep and waking up at 23:00, then for an hour or two utilized their time to socialize with their neighbors, jot down creative work, use their malleable brain to neurochemically architect their entire day and life. Then they would turn for their 2nd sleep. Great writers philosophers and artists for long have realized the value of the mind’s quietest hours. Figures such as Charles Dicken, Marcel Proust and Franz Kafka were prominently known for their unconventional sleep patterns and have produced most of their profound work during the early morning hours. In Indian culture, this period is also known as Brahma Murat, which is an auspicious period suffusing positive and powerful energy.

3. Drink Water

Hydrating our body after a good sleep at night is one of the most significant steps to oxygenate our brain. Along with hydrating, taking supplements like natural probiotics and natural vitamins assists our bodies in rejuvenating.

4. Brushing your teeth with your opposite hand

Brushing your teeth with your opposite hand can highly benefit your brain by challenging it to perform a familiar task in an unfamiliar way, which requires greater focus, coordination, and conscious control. This strengthens our neural connections through neuroplasticity. It also helps break automatic habits and encourages mindfulness in our daily routine, making it a simple way to give your brain a small daily challenge and activating the opposite side of your brain.

5. Working out

A short but high-intensity workout can benefit your brain by increasing blood flow and oxygen, improving focus, boosting mood, and reducing stress. Even a few minutes of intense exercise can stimulate the release of endorphins and help you feel more energized and mentally alert.

6.Meditate

Meditation is like giving your body a chance to press the reset button. As your mind slows down, your body can move out of constant “fight-or-flight” mode, helping your breathing become steadier, your muscles relax, and your heart rate calm down. Over time, meditation can help your body manage stress better, improve sleep, and create a deeper connection between your mind and body.

7. Take a Cold Shower

Taking a cold shower helps lower inflammation in our bodies; it helps refresh the body’s resilience and assists in building greater focus. It gives the brain a quick boost of energy by increasing alertness and releasing adrenaline and other stress hormones. By doing the hard thing at the start of the morning, it trains our memory and improves the motivation to work hard.

8. Make a brain smoothie

A healthy brain smoothie is a fun way to combine healthy ingredients that support brain health, such as fruits, leafy vegetables, yogurts, seeds, walnuts, etc. These foods provide the essential nutrients and antioxidants that support memory, concentration, and overall brain function.

9.Reading

When you start with reading first thing in the morning, it stimulates alertness and improves intelligence as your brain is malleable and easy to code in the morning. Thus proving to improve an individual’s critical thinking ability, knowledge, and reflective ability.

10. Journal & Gratitude

When you break down your thoughts and jot them down, you start noticing patterns of a genius. It is a great reflective ability that builds mental acuity and awareness. Prominent figures like Einstein, Da Vinci, and Eileen Gu have always journaled to plasticize their neural pathways into a mindset of a successful person.

Additionally, Gratitude journaling can benefit your brain by encouraging you to focus on positive experiences and appreciate the good things in your life. This is done through recalling 10 things you feel grateful for each day and writing them down. This has been proven to be a magical experience, as the more thankful and positive a person is, the more instances of the greater good and opportunities occur in their life. This practice has also helped reduce stress, improve mood, and promote a more positive mindset, making it a simple way to support emotional well-being and mental health.

To summarize, implementing such small steps into your daily routine can lead to a healthy lifestyle, further healing an individual’s life, providing them with a fuller sense of living, a positive mindset, and an empowering intelligence that converges to improve a person’s life trajectory.
